Blackwater, QLD, 8th September, 2008 Queensland Yamaha Girls Team rider Brooke Thiemann blitzed her competition over the weekend at Blackwater’s Charlie Reynolds Memorial, taking a commanding win in the 2 lap ‘winner take all feature race’, plus three dominant moto wins for the overall.

The eight-hour drive was worth it for the Sunshine Coast resident, who continues to build in strength as the year goes on.

Thiemann (City Yamaha/Men at Work) was eager to test her speed against some of Central Queensland’s finest women and was ecstatic to put together a series of wins with ease.

“I had a fantastic weekend, I cannot thank the Blackwater Junior Motorcycle Club enough for putting on such an exceptional meeting and showing such great hospitality. They were so welcoming, and are hoping I bring more girls back to compete next time.”

“The track was prepared so well over the two days of racing, the club really worked hard and had its track watering under control too, which was great to see.”

“I really loved their jumps, and I was the only girl to be making them all. I also really had a ball with their big ‘flat track’ style corner.”

The win for the Queensland #4 will no doubt boost her confidence as she heads in to the final round of the Queensland Women’s Natural Terrain Championships this weekend at Mundubbera. Thiemann, the current series leader is under threat from her own team mate Tamara Gray, who is looking to take her fourth natural terrain title.
