Husky Chix Rebecca Bateman from Lismore headed to Ipswich for the opening round of The Australian Supermoto Championship to win the Women’s class and say goodbye to all.

Becky in the first qualifier, managed 2nd overall, and in the second qualifier, qualified 4th amongst the veteran’s and the women’s class. Saturday and Sunday consisted of four heats. Becky riding her Husqvarna SMR 450 won all four races quite easily amongst the women and finished 5th overall amongst the veterans.

"Considering I haven’t ridden since Moto Mayhem back in February, I was quiet happy to win round 1. This is a sad time for me to call it quits but I have won 2 years in a row now, and I have decided to go back into moto x and do some flat track events.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Sue and Paul from Husqvarna for all of their support including my sponsors Motul, Metzeler, Tubby Graphics and my personal sponsors Mcleods accessories. Rachael from Motorcycle Sportsmen’s and crew did a fantastic job putting this event together and I would like to wish all the best to the other girls."

New comer on the block in Motard was Husky Chix Stephanie Redman from the Gold Coast. Stef’s back ground is road racing but decided to give this ago and finished 3rd overall in the women’s class on her Husqvarna TC250.
